Presidio Heights I

Wide Open Space, Views, and Possibility

4,300 sf  |  2 floors w/ roof deck, 4 bedrooms, 3 baths

When we got the chance to renovate and expand this mid-century modern dwelling, we saw endless possibilities for architectural collaboration. With wide-open, column-free spaces, an expansive roof deck, and sweeping views of The Golden Gate Bridge and Presidio Park, we consider this one of our most imaginative of marquee projects.

Behind the scenes, the new basement necessitated complicated excavation, shoring, and a new shotcrete foundation. The column-free spaces required surgical insertion of new steel structural members. Among many other feats, we procured and managed the installation of custom engineered, European old-growth oak flooring and the cantilevered, wood-clad steel stair.
